Well, that subject line says it all :-)
And only a week overdue. Came to 25 double spaced pages, which is the length I was aiming for.
I'm still planning on taking June off for some volunteer work and relaxing, and with this latest story done, I can do it guilt- free. Yeah!

Well, this turned out to be a great long weekend as I accomplish several goals in one stroke:
1) finished the short story for the month
2) the short story was a straight fantasy (no romance, though it hints at a possible relationship for the future if both participants don't screw it up) which is what I wanted to write
3) the story is set in the world I'd created in February (and that worked out really well, made the world seem fuller and richer than I'd expected and I'd only used a tiny portion of what I'd outlined)
It came in at around 8,000 words - which is about what I was aiming for. And that means I now have two more short stories to market than I had at the start of the year.
And I have the next weekend to goof off and relax - my aching shoulders tell me they need the rest, too.
And if that weren't enough, I also got some good news.
I received a request for a full of a novel and snail mailed it off. Then got another request for a full (another novel, different book) and that too has been sent off (by email).
Sold a short story to TWRP (fantasy romance called Daughter of the Sorcerer King). Finished the edits for that and the one previous to it. So there should be two short stories coming out in the next few months.
All in all an excellent month! Makes up for all the rejections I'd been getting lately.
